Hixon is a small village and civil parish in the Borough of Stafford, in Staffordshire, England. It retains a distinctly rural, agricultural character with a village church, primary school and community hall, but is also linked to larger towns by local roads and the nearby West Coast Main Line, so many residents commute for work.
The parish has a notable recent history: the site of the former RAF Hixon airfield from the Second World War and the scene of the 1968 rail crash at the A51 level crossing, an event that prompted important changes to level-crossing safety nationally. Today Hixon feels like a close‑knit, traditional Staffordshire village with occasional local events and a mixed economy of farming, small businesses and commuters.
