Abinger is a civil parish in Mole Valley, Surrey, England, set on the Greensand foothills at the edge of the Surrey Hills AONB. The landscape is a mix of wooded slopes and rolling farmland near Leith Hill, and the area comprises small settlements such as Abinger Hammer and Abinger Common, giving it a distinctly rural feel despite reasonable rail and road access to London.
Historically the valley of the Tillingbourne powered mills and hammer ponds that supported local industry from the 17th century onwards, and traces of that industrial past sit alongside a medieval parish church and several country houses. Today the economy is largely agricultural and residential, with a lively village community (pubs, village hall and cricket), walkers and nature-lovers drawn by the footpaths and woodland, and many residents commuting to nearby market towns or the capital.
