Hooley is a small village in the borough of Reigate and Banstead in Surrey, sitting on the southern edge of the North Downs and close to the Greater London boundary. It has a semi-rural, leafy character and benefits from good transport links for commuters, with the A23 nearby and rail stations a short drive away at places such as Reigate, Redhill and Merstham.
Historically a rural settlement that expanded with better 19th- and 20th-century connections, Hooley still feels village-like with pockets of countryside and walking routes on the chalk downs. The local economy today is largely residential and commuter-oriented, with a small community life centred on local amenities and the draw of nearby open space for walkers and families.
