Aldridge is a market-town-style suburb in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall, in the West Midlands of England. Sitting on the fringe of the West Midlands conurbation yet close to open countryside, it has a village-like high street and pockets of Victorian and Edwardian architecture that reflect its long history as a rural settlement that expanded in the 19th century with coal mining and local industry.
Today Aldridge is largely a residential commuter town within easy reach of Birmingham, with a mix of independent shops, cafés, parks and community groups. Its character is shaped by a blend of suburban family life and local civic pride, with historic churches and conservation areas alongside modern retail and small-business activity.
