Birchills Leamore is an urban area just north of Walsall town centre in the West Midlands, lying within the traditional industrial landscape of the Black Country. The neighbourhood is notable for its canal frontage - stretches of the Wyrley and Essington Canal and the Birmingham Canal Navigations run through the area, giving pleasant towpath walks and a reminder of the transport routes that once served local industry.
The locality has roots in coal and light manufacturing and much of the built environment reflects post‑war council housing and later redevelopment. Today it has a mixed, multicultural population and a community focus on regeneration and improving local services, with initiatives aimed at housing improvement, employment and leisure along the canals; many residents commute into Walsall and nearby centres for work and shopping.
