Bentley and Darlaston North sits in the north‑west of the borough of Walsall in the West Midlands, taking in parts of Bentley and Darlaston. The ward mixes older terraced streets and post‑war council housing with pockets of open space, while remnants of canals and disused railway lines hint at a strong industrial geography that shaped the area.
Historically the neighbourhood grew up around coal, iron and metalworking, and traces of that industrial past remain in former works and street layouts. Today it is a mixed, diverse community with local shops, community centres and sports clubs, and many residents commute to nearby Birmingham and Wolverhampton; recent regeneration efforts have focused on housing improvements and facilities to reflect changing social and economic needs.
