The village of Northchapel lies in the western part of the district of Chichester, in West Sussex, England. It sits in the undulating, wooded landscape of the western Weald, close to the border with Surrey and within easy reach of the South Downs and the Surrey Hills, with rolling farmland, ancient woodland and small streams giving the area a quietly rural feel.
Historically the locality was shaped by farming, woodland management and the wider Wealden industries, and today it remains largely residential with working farms, a village pub, a parish church and an active village hall. Traditional flint-and-brick cottages, community fetes, clubs and conservation-minded groups contribute to a tight-knit social life that also attracts walkers and people seeking country living within reasonable distance of the south coast.
