Bowerchalke is a small village and civil parish in Wiltshire, England, tucked into the wooded, rolling slopes of the Chalke Valley on the southern edge of Cranborne Chase. It sits along a chalk stream, the River Ebble, and the surrounding chalk downland and mixed farmland give the area a very strong sense of landscape continuity and tranquillity.
Historically a farming community, the village still shows that rural pedigree in its thatched and flint cottages and a compact settlement pattern; many buildings are listed and the parish retains a well‑preserved village character. Today the local economy is largely agricultural with some residents commuting further afield, while walkers, naturalists and anyone attracted to classic chalk‑valley scenery come for the wildlife, quiet lanes and strong village social life centred on local events and the village hall.
