Dinton is a small rural village and civil parish in Wiltshire, in south-west England, within easy reach of Salisbury and the rolling chalk country of Salisbury Plain. The surrounding downland and farmland give the parish classic Wiltshire scenery and make it popular with walkers and those wanting a quiet countryside base.
Historically the village has medieval roots and a compact centre of traditional cottages and a parish church with historic fabric, and many houses are listed or lie within a conservation area. The local economy remains largely agricultural with a proportion of residents commuting to nearby towns; socially it retains a close-knit feel with a village hall, occasional fĂȘtes and community activities that reflect long-standing rural traditions.
