Eversley is a small village and civil parish in the borough of Wokingham, in the county of Hampshire. It sits on the banks of the River Blackwater amid rolling farmland and pockets of woodland near the Berkshire border, so it feels very rural while still being within easy reach of Reading and the main commuter routes.
Historically the village is best known as the long‑time home of the Victorian writer Charles Kingsley - his rectory and the local church St Mary the Virgin are local landmarks - and today Eversley retains a strong village identity with a conservation area, traditional pubs, a primary school and an active cricket club. The local economy is a mix of agriculture, small businesses and commuters, and community events and green space remain central to village life.
