Cardross is a small coastal village in Argyll and Bute, sitting on the northern shore of the Firth of Clyde between Dumbarton and Helensburgh. It enjoys attractive estuary views across to the Isle of Arran and the Arrochar Alps on clear days, and has a station on the North Clyde line that makes it a popular commuter spot for Glasgow while retaining a quiet, village feel.
The place has a long history - the manor at Cardross is famously linked with Robert the Bruce’s later life - and today the local economy is largely residential with small businesses, agriculture and active community organisations. The shoreline, nearby countryside and the mouth of the River Leven give it a mix of outdoor appeal and lived-in village culture rather than heavy tourism.
