Kirkliston is a small village on the western edge of the City of Edinburgh in Scotland, located a few miles inland from the Firth of Forth. Historically part of West Lothian, it retains a compact conservation-area core of stone buildings that reflect its medieval and agricultural roots while lying close to modern transport links and Edinburgh Airport.
Today Kirkliston combines a commuter population with longstanding local families, supported by shops, pubs, a primary school and regular community events such as the village gala; surrounding farmland and nearby paths also make it popular with walkers and cyclists heading towards Edinburgh and the coast.
