Sauchie is a small former mining town in the heart of Clackmannanshire, Scotland, sitting just west of Alloa with the rounded slopes of the Ochil Hills and the River Devon valley close by. Its landscape is marked by the early-modern relic Sauchie Tower, a restored tower house, and the popular reservoir and country park at Gartmorn Dam, both of which draw walkers and anglers from the surrounding area.
Historically tied to coal and heavy industry, Sauchie has shifted towards a mixed local economy and functions partly as a commuter community for nearby towns and cities; small industrial estates and local shops sit alongside newer housing. The town retains a strong local identity, evident in community clubs and recreational life, and its history and green spaces make it a quietly interesting spot in the Forth Valley region.
