Tillicoultry is a small town in Clackmannanshire, Scotland, sitting snugly at the southern foot of the Ochil Hills. The dramatic scarp and steep burns give it a compact, scenic feel and make it a handy base for hillwalking and short hikes; on clear days you get attractive views down the valley towards the lowlands and nearby towns such as Alloa and Stirling.
Historically the town grew up around water‑powered mills and textile works that used the local streams and the River Devon, and like many Central Belt communities it shifted away from heavy industry in the 20th century towards retail, light industry and serving as a commuter settlement. Locals often call it “Tilly”; despite modern development it still retains a strong village spirit with community groups, Victorian and stone-built streetscapes and easy access to the countryside around places such as Dollar.
