Blairhall is a small village in west Fife, Scotland, located a few miles to the west of Dunfermline. It was largely developed in the early 20th century to provide housing for workers at Blairhall Colliery, and sits amid rolling farmland and woods that give it a quiet, compact feel while remaining within commuting distance of Dunfermline and Edinburgh.
The village’s mining heritage still shapes local identity: although the pits have long closed, memorials, surviving miners’ housing and active community groups keep that history alive. Today Blairhall functions mainly as a residential community with local clubs, a village hall and links to the wider Fife economy, offering a glimpse of Scotland’s industrial past set against a peaceful rural backdrop.
