The former port of Bo'ness (traditionally Borrowstounness) sits on the south bank of the Firth of Forth in the council area of Falkirk, Scotland. Once a busy coal- and salt-exporting harbour with shipbuilding and heavy industry, the town still shows that maritime legacy alongside Victorian streets and coastal views across to Fife.
Today Bo'ness combines light industry and commuter links to Edinburgh and Stirling with a lively heritage scene: the preserved Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway, the restored Bo'ness Hippodrome and nearby Kinneil House draw visitors, while traditional events such as the annual fair and hill‑climb keep a strong local community spirit. The mix of maritime history, conservation areas and festivals gives the town a distinctive character within Falkirk.
