Lochwinnoch is a small village in Renfrewshire, set beside Castle Semple Loch on the edge of Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, within easy reach of Glasgow and Paisley. The loch and surrounding wetlands, fed by the River Calder, give the place a strong sense of landscape and history, with links to the old Semple estate and a legacy of local industries such as quarrying and weaving.
Today the village is popular with walkers, birdwatchers and watersports enthusiasts - there’s an RSPB reserve and a sailing scene on the loch - and the local economy combines commuting, small businesses and tourism. The community retains a quietly rural, historic feel while serving as a gateway for outdoor recreation in the west of Scotland.
