The ward centred on Bannockburn lies just southeast of Stirling in central Scotland, following the valley of the Bannock Burn and sitting close to the River Forth. It is best known for the battlefield of 1314, remembered at the Bannockburn Heritage Centre, and the area still carries strong historic associations alongside views towards Stirling Castle and the Ochil Hills.
Today the ward is a mix of suburban housing, new developments and pockets of light industry, with many residents commuting to Stirling, Glasgow or Edinburgh via the nearby M9. Local shops, schools and sports clubs help sustain a lively community spirit, where heritage events and green spaces sit alongside the practicalities of a modern commuter town.
