Dunblane and Bridge of Allan sit in the council area of Stirling in central Scotland, straddling the River Allan and lying at the foot of the Ochil Hills. Both are compact, well connected towns with a railway station and easy links to Perth and Glasgow, and the nearby University of Stirling adds a noticeably academic and energetic presence to the locality.
Dunblane is best known for its handsome medieval cathedral and historic core and is also widely recognised as the hometown of tennis player Andy Murray, while Bridge of Allan developed as a Victorian spa and railway town with attractive stone villas, independent shops and a bustling café scene. Together they combine a strong local community, tourism and commuter income, with plenty of access to outdoor pursuits in the hills and rivers that surround them.
