Nant-y-moel is a small village and electoral ward in the Ogmore Valley of Bridgend, Wales, tucked into the steep sides of the valley near the headwaters of the River Ogmore. Its upland setting gives easy access to moorland and valley footpaths that are popular with walkers and mountain bikers, while larger centres such as Maesteg and Bridgend are a short drive away.
Built largely to house coal miners in the 19th and early 20th centuries, the village still retains a strong Valleys identity with active community groups, chapels and a keen interest in local rugby. Since the decline of mining the area has become more residential, with many people commuting to nearby towns, and there have been local regeneration efforts and a growing emphasis on outdoor recreation and community-led initiatives.
