Five Roads is a small village in Carmarthenshire, Wales, named for the junction of several rural lanes that meet at its centre. Set amid rolling farmland, it has the feel of a traditional Welsh crossroads settlement with a pub, a few local shops and a community hall serving a dispersed rural population.
Historically the village grew up around road transport and local agriculture, and today many residents combine farming with commuting to nearby towns such as Cross Hands, Llanelli and Swansea. There is a strong local identity and a notable Welsh-speaking presence, reflected in community events and village life, while the surrounding Carmarthenshire countryside and coast remain important to the area’s character and economy.
