Pont Henri is a small village in rural Carmarthenshire, in south-west Wales, lying within easy reach of the larger town of Llanelli. The name, literally “Henri’s bridge”, hints at its origins as a settlement clustered around a crossing and local lanes, and the village still feels like a compact, recognisable community rather than a suburban sprawl.
Like many places in the area, Pont Henri was shaped by the 19th- and 20th-century coal and tinplate industries and retains an industrial heritage alongside chapels, pubs and a strong local identity. Today it functions largely as a close-knit residential and commuter community with convenient links to Swansea and the coast, and enjoys access to the countryside and coastal attractions such as Pembrey and Burry Port.
