Trimsaran is a small village in Carmarthenshire, Wales, set in the Gwendraeth Valley between Llanelli and Kidwelly. It grew up as a coal‑mining community – the remains of the colliery era are still part of the local landscape – but today is largely residential and often functions as a commuter base for the nearby towns while keeping a visible industrial heritage.
The village lies close to the South Wales coast and to nature and leisure attractions such as the Llanelli Wetlands and Pembrey Country Park, which are popular for birdwatching and coastal walks. Local life centres on community institutions like the rugby club, and Welsh language and rural traditions remain important; nearby historic sites such as Kidwelly Castle also underline the deeper history of the area within Carmarthenshire.
