Betws-yn-Rhos is a small, largely rural ward in Conwy, Wales, centred on the eponymous village. Its name comes from the old word "betws" (a prayer house) and the area is characterised by rolling farmland, stone cottages and chapels, lying within easy reach of the North Wales coast and the foothills of Snowdonia, which gives pleasant countryside views and good access to seaside and mountain leisure.
Traditionally agricultural, the local economy still relies on family farms alongside small businesses, while many residents commute to nearby towns for work. Community life is active around the village hall, pubs and chapels, and Welsh language and local traditions remain visible in events and daily life, lending the ward a strong sense of local identity and history.
