Llantysilio is a small, predominantly rural parish in Denbighshire, north-east Wales, perched on the slopes above the Dee Valley and the Eglwyseg escarpment. The landscape of limestone crags, heather moorland and winding lanes - with the famous Horseshoe Pass cutting through the hills - makes it popular with walkers, climbers and photographers, while the River Dee and nearby canals provide notable riverside scenery.
The local economy is still rooted in agriculture, especially sheep farming, but tourism linked to nearby Llangollen and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct World Heritage Site plays an important part, and scattered historic churches and farmsteads hint at a long rural history and community life.
