Glyn Ceiriog is a small village in the steep, wooded Ceiriog Valley in Wrexham, Wales. It sits along the River Ceiriog close to the England–Wales border and is known for dramatic valley scenery, stone-built terraces and a compact village street with a pub and former quarry buildings.
Historically a centre for slate quarrying, the village was linked by the narrow-gauge Glyn Valley Tramway to Chirk, leaving earthworks and local heritage interest, and the valley famously inspired the Welsh poet John Ceiriog Hughes. Today the economy leans on farming, forestry and tourism - walkers use nearby routes such as the Offa's Dyke Path - and the community retains a strong rural character.
