Rachub is a compact ward in the community of Llanddeiniolen in Gwynedd, lying just above and to the north of Caernarfon on the fringe of Snowdonia. Its elevated, hillside siting gives residents fine views towards the Carneddau and Snowdon, so the area feels rural and scenic while remaining close to town services.
Historically the settlement grew from farming and the wider slate‑industry boom that shaped much of north‑west Wales; today it is largely residential, with many people commuting to nearby towns such as Caernarfon and Bangor. The ward retains a strong Welsh‑speaking identity and an active community life centred on local chapels, pubs and clubs that keep traditional culture and music alive.
