Moelfre is a compact coastal village on the east coast of the Isle of Anglesey in Wales, perched beside a small working harbour and open to the Irish Sea. The shoreline mixes rocky headlands and small sandy bays, and the village is well known for its strong maritime heritage: a long history of shipwrecks, a proud RNLI lifeboat station and a small museum which celebrate the local courage and seafaring traditions.
Today the local economy blends fishing with tourism - walkers and families come for the coastal path, beaches and wildlife, while cafés, pubs and holiday parks cater for visitors. Welsh language and community life remain important, giving Moelfre the feel of a close‑knit village where maritime history, fresh sea air and local events shape everyday life.
