Yscir is a small, sparsely populated rural community in Powys, a few miles from Brecon and within easy reach of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The area is made up of scattered hamlets and farmsteads set among rolling hills and river valleys, giving it a quiet, agricultural character and plenty of opportunities for walking and horse riding.
Locally the economy centres on farming and small-scale tourism, with a handful of historic churches and vernacular buildings reflecting a long farming history. Community life is modest but active, with local events and a community council helping to sustain services and preserve the rural landscape that draws visitors seeking peace and outdoor recreation.
