Oscott is a residential ward in north Birmingham, sitting on the southern edge of Sutton Coldfield and neighbouring suburbs such as Kingstanding and Perry Barr. The area is mainly suburban, with a mix of Victorian, interwar and post‑war housing, and benefits from proximity to Sutton Park, one of the largest urban parks in Europe, which gives residents easy access to open green space.
Its most recognisable landmark is St Mary's College, Oscott, a historic Roman Catholic seminary that gives the ward a distinct historic and architectural character. The local economy is driven by small shops, community facilities and commuter links into central Birmingham, and the ward has a strong neighbourhood feel with active community groups and a socially mixed population.
