Halesowen North is a ward in the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley covering the northern reaches of the town of Halesowen. It is largely suburban with a mix of family housing, local shopping parades and small industrial estates, sitting close to green-belt countryside and notable local greens such as the 18th-century landscaped garden at The Leasowes. The area reflects the town’s longer history as a market and industrial settlement and still bears traces of that past, not least in the story of the town’s lost railway line from the Beeching era.
Residents commonly commute to nearby centres via the A456 and the M5, with links into Birmingham and Stourbridge, and the ward supports a steady local civic life centred on schools, community groups and small businesses. Politically it returns councillors to Dudley Council and tends to combine the quieter domestic feel of suburban streets with practical local services and easy access to larger urban amenities.
