Cradley Heath is a small town in the borough of Sandwell in the West Midlands, sitting in the heart of the Black Country close to Halesowen, Dudley and Stourbridge. It has good rail and road links to Birmingham and the wider region via Cradley Heath railway station, and functions today as a mix of local shopping, light industry and a commuter base for the nearby cities.
The town is best known for its industrial past - particularly chain‑making and metalworking - and was the scene of the famous 1910–11 chainmakers’ strike, commemorated by a local memorial. Green spaces and heritage survive too, notably Haden Hill Park with Haden Hill House, and the area retains a strong Black Country cultural identity, reflected in local dialect, community events and working‑class traditions.
