Halesowen South is the southern part of the town of Halesowen within the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley in the West Midlands. It is largely suburban, with a mix of post-war and older housing, small local shopping parades and light industrial estates; many residents commute out to nearby centres such as Birmingham and Stourbridge by road and regular bus services.
The area sits on the edge of the traditional Black Country and carries that industrial heritage alongside green escapes: the eighteenth‑century landscape of Leasowes and remnants of older town features, including links to Halesowen Abbey, give the ward a blend of history and community activity. Local sports clubs, community centres and scattered small businesses help sustain a strong neighbourhood feel despite proximity to larger urban hubs.
