Kirk Ella is a leafy village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, a few miles west of Kingston upon Hull and adjacent to Willerby, Anlaby and West Ella. Perched on slightly higher ground than the surrounding plain, it has a suburban feel with tree‑lined streets, pockets of green space and views towards the Humber estuary on clear days.
Historically it developed as a desirable retreat for prosperous Hull merchants, so the area still features several large Georgian and Victorian houses and a number of listed buildings; parts of the village are treated as a conservation area. Today it is largely residential with local shops, schools and active community groups, serving as an attractive commuter suburb with a strong local identity and regular village events.
