Ketton is a village and civil parish in Rutland, on the eastern edge of the East Midlands close to the Lincolnshire border and the market town of Stamford. It sits beside the River Chater in a landscape marked by rolling countryside and the pale limestone outcrops that give the area its distinct character.
The local economy and appearance of the village have long been shaped by the stone industry: the large Ketton Cement Works and nearby Ketton Quarry are major local employers, while former quarry faces have been reclaimed as nature-rich reserves popular with walkers and wildlife watchers. The settlement retains a compact historic core of stone-built houses and a medieval parish church, and supports an active community life with a primary school, pubs and village clubs.
