Chedzoy is a small village and civil parish in Somerset, sitting a few miles east of Bridgwater on the edge of the Somerset Levels. The landscape is very low-lying and shaped by drainage and flood defences beside the River Parrett, so the village has long associations with reclaimed pasture, rich birdlife and the seasonal threat of flooding.
Historically it has a long rural past and a compact community clustered around its historic parish, with St Mary's Church reflecting medieval building phases. Today the local economy remains largely agricultural while many residents commute to nearby towns; social life is typical of a Somerset village, centred on the church, village hall and occasional local events.
