Westonzoyland in Somerset, England is a small, low-lying village on the Somerset Levels just outside Bridgwater. The flat, watery landscape of drained marshes, rhynes and peat has long shaped a mostly agricultural economy, and the village is home to the Westonzoyland Pumping Station Museum, which preserves steam-driven drainage engines and tells the story of how the levels have been kept habitable.
The area is notable historically for the Battle of Sedgemoor (1685), often described as the last pitched battle on English soil, and for the former airfield RAF Westonzoyland, used during the Second World War. Today it remains a quiet rural community with strong ties to land drainage and flood defence, while many residents commute to nearby towns for work.
