Spaxton is a small rural village and civil parish in Somerset, England, lying on the eastern fringes of the Quantock Hills within the Sedgemoor district. It looks out across the Somerset Levels towards the Bristol Channel and sits within easy reach of market towns such as Bridgwater and Taunton, which makes it a quiet mix of farming community and commuter village.
Historically the settlement clusters around its medieval parish church and a number of old manor houses, and the surrounding hills show evidence of prehistoric barrows and long-established footpaths; the Quantocks are also associated with the Romantic poets who spent time in nearby Nether Stowey. Today Spaxton retains a strong village community with local events, small businesses and easy access to outdoor recreation in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
