Burghfield Common is a village in the civil parish of Burghfield in West Berkshire, England. Sitting a few miles west of Reading and close to the M4 corridor, it combines ribbon development and pockets of common land, woodland and brookside, giving a semi‑rural feel while remaining within easy commuting distance of larger towns.
Historically agricultural, the village expanded in the 20th century and today has local shops, pubs, sports clubs and a community hall. Many residents have worked at nearby industrial and defence sites such as the Atomic Weapons Establishment at Aldermaston, and the surrounding heath and brookland are valued for walking and local wildlife, helping preserve a quiet village character with active community life.
