Wylye is a small valley parish in Wiltshire, England, strung out along the banks of the River Wylye amid typical chalk downland close to Salisbury Plain. The settlement feels linear and rural, with lanes, stone and flint cottages and waterside meadows that reflect its riverside setting and long agricultural history.
Locally the economy is still rooted in farming, though many residents commute to larger towns and the area attracts walkers and anglers drawn to the clear chalk stream. There are historic layers to be seen in old buildings and the village church, and community life tends to revolve around the village hall, the local pub and modest conservation efforts to preserve the valley’s character.
