Woodley is a civil parish on the eastern edge of Wokingham borough in Berkshire, sitting close to the meanders of the River Loddon and within easy reach of Reading and the M4 corridor. Its setting mixes suburban housing with pockets of riverside and parkland, notably Bulmershe Park, which make it commuter-friendly while still offering green space for walks and leisure.
Historically the area grew from a village into a larger residential town and acquired a strong aviation heritage - aircraft manufacture and the small Woodley Aerodrome have left a visible legacy - alongside modern retail and light industrial businesses. Community life is active, with local clubs, sports facilities and events that give the parish a distinctly local, village-like feel despite its proximity to larger urban centres.
