Busby is a small former mill village in East Renfrewshire, Scotland, sitting on the banks of the White Cart Water about six miles south of Glasgow. It grew up around 18th– and 19th‑century textile mills, and that industrial past is still readable in the sandstone buildings and clustered streets of the original village centre.
Today Busby is a popular commuter community with a local railway station providing regular services into Glasgow, a compact High Street of independent shops and cafés, and a strong local identity enhanced by nearby green spaces such as Rouken Glen Park. Conservation area status for parts of the village helps preserve the Victorian character even as modern housing and family life shape its social and economic profile.
