Eaglesham is a picturesque conservation village in East Renfrewshire, Scotland, lying roughly ten miles south of Glasgow. It sits on the edge of moorland and is overlooked by the turbines of the Whitelee Wind Farm, giving a striking contrast between traditional stone-built streets and open upland scenery.
The village dates from the 18th century as a planned settlement laid out by the Montgomeries of Eglinton and still retains a strong historic character around its green and vernacular cottages. Today it functions largely as a commuter and local service centre with an active community, conservation focus and plenty of opportunities for walking and enjoying the surrounding countryside.
