Maidenhill is a suburban neighbourhood in Newton Mearns, within East Renfrewshire, lying on the southern fringe of Glasgow. It is mainly residential, characterised by family homes, pockets of green space and mature tree-lined streets typical of post‑war and later suburban development.
The area is popular with families thanks to nearby schools and easy commuter links via the M77 and regular bus services into Glasgow. Locally the community centres on schools, sports clubs and small shops, and economically it functions largely as a commuter suburb within an otherwise relatively affluent part of the region that moved from agricultural roots to suburban living over the twentieth century.
