Avonbridge is a small village in the council area of Falkirk, Scotland, lying beside the River Avon; its name quite literally reflects the bridge over the river and the settlement’s role as a local crossing in the Avon valley. The setting is typically rural-edges-of-the-Central-Belt, with fields, river habitats and easy access to country walks that attract local birdwatchers and anglers.
Historically the area shared in the agricultural, coal and quarrying economy common to nearby communities, and today it has a quiet, largely residential character with many people commuting into larger towns. The village retains a small-community feel with some historic buildings and an emphasis on outdoor recreation and local neighbourhood life.
