California is a small residential neighbourhood on the outskirts of Falkirk in central Scotland, set in the rolling landscape of the Forth Valley. It sits close to the corridor of canals and waterways that define the area - notably the Union Canal and the tourist attraction of the Falkirk Wheel - and the settlement grew up during the 19th‑century industrial expansion that shaped much of the town, with terraces and local stone buildings typical of that era.
Today California is largely a quiet residential spot with local shops and community organisations, popular with commuters thanks to good road and rail links towards Glasgow and Edinburgh. Its proximity to heritage features such as the line of the Antonine Wall, cycle routes and canal towpaths gives residents easy access to outdoor recreation while retaining a strong village feel.
