Brightons is a small village in the council area of Falkirk, in central Scotland, lying close to the neighbouring settlement of Polmont and within easy reach of the M9 motorway. The village sits near pleasant green spaces such as Muiravonside Country Park and forms part of a landscape shaped by historic transport routes and Roman activity across the wider area, notably the line of the Antonine Wall that crosses the Falkirk region.
Historically rooted in agriculture and expanded in the 19th century by local industry and improved transport links, Brightons today is largely residential and functions in many ways as a commuter community for Edinburgh and Glasgow. It retains a village feel with local amenities such as a primary school, community facilities and grassroots sport, while offering easy access to countryside walks and the wider cultural and economic attractions of the Falkirk area.
