Linlithgow is an historic riverside ward in West Lothian, Scotland, centred on the royal burgh between Edinburgh and Falkirk. The area is notable for its mediaeval palace and birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots at Linlithgow Palace, the attractive Linlithgow Loch and views across the River Forth, all of which give the ward a strong sense of place and draw visitors throughout the year.
Today the ward combines commuter and local life, with a busy high street of independent shops, cafés and community events such as the Linlithgow Marches, while also returning councillors to West Lothian Council. Good rail and road links into the central belt support a mixed local economy and a population that balances heritage tourism with modern residential and small-business activity.
