Cefneithin is a small village in Carmarthenshire in Wales, set amid rolling farmland and within easy reach of Cross Hands and Llanelli. Historically it was part of the South Wales coalfield and grew around mining; today the economy is a mix of agriculture, light industry and commuting, and the surrounding hills give good views towards Mynydd Mawr and the wider countryside.
Socially the village retains a strong local identity and Welsh-language tradition, with a close-knit community centred on the village hall, chapel life and local sport - notably Cefneithin RFC - while the memory of its mining past is still important to local heritage even as small businesses and regeneration projects have reshaped the area.
