Tumble is a former coal‑mining village in Carmarthenshire, Wales, sitting on the rim of the Gwendraeth valley between Llanelli and Ammanford. It grew up in the 19th and early 20th centuries around the pits and rail links that served the South Wales coalfield, and the landscape still shows that industrial past against rolling farmland and popular walking and cycling routes.
Today Tumble is largely a residential and commuter community with a strong local identity: chapels, pubs and a thriving rugby club reflect its tight social fabric and sporting tradition. The local economy is mixed, with small businesses and people travelling to nearby towns for work, while community events and a proud heritage keep the village character distinct.
